Reflective Narrative
My time in Japan was the greatest experience that I have ever had. It is by far the best way to truly immerse yourself in the culture of another country. Seeing the way that native people live in Japan deepened my understanding of Japan and it's culture and I got to see firsthand how people interact with each other. Tokyo was unlike anything I have ever see, it is better than the pictures you see online. It is surprisingly modern and also has a rich amount of authentic historic culture. Asakusa reminded me of what a pre-modern Japan would look like and I really enjoyed walking through and seeing everything that was there. As for the language, having to communicate in Japanese is the best way to learn and I had to pick up on little nuances that I don't necessarily get to hear in the classroom.
