Reflective Narrative:
JAPN 314 is a fantastic class. Taught by one of the newest professor's at CSUMB Dr. Wright, it was a fresh and enlightening experience. I found some of the concepts that we learned in class were a bit difficult for me to understand, but in class discussions greatly increased my understanding of the coursework and reading we were assigned over the semester. One essay that we we assigned was for us to choose a part of Japan's visual culture and explain it with the terms that we had learned in class, like semiology, the study of signs. Overall the class was great and had a lot of fun and different ways to incorporate students into the classroom.
