Reflective Narrative:
Japanese language and communication is an essential skill that is acquired throughout the years learning Japanese at CSUMB. I believe that I can effectively communicate in Japanese through the three modes of interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational.
JAPN 300, 301, and 304 are perfect examples of coursework that exemplify how language and communication is used in Japanese. I have learned so much, but I think the greatest method of learning to express language and communication is studying abroad. Studying abroad allowed me to really hone my skills and to practice my listening because it is a 100% authentic experience and it allows you to see what skills you really need to work on in order to improve your fluency.
